Hosanna Broadcasting Foundation began its operation in June 2002 with a clear direction to start helping young people who needed assistance in shaping their future goals. The company is a grass-roots community organization led by Tersit Asrat. The organization immediately began working with “Program for Tortured Victims” providing a Job Readiness program for those who have migrated into the US. Tersit along with the board members and associates of the organization trained immigrants in various skills so that they can confidently compete to enter the work force. Hosanna continued to expand this program by offering an internship opportunity to Cal State Dominguez Hills students. The program trained several students in editing, formatting, and production skills through HBN-TV. Most of these young people who are trained by Hosanna Foundation have acquired a high paying job in various industries. The company has also provided this training program to many young men and women who have graduated from high school and needed training in media to advance in their career. Hosanna Broadcasting Foundation has also founded and managed “Hosanna House” in 2004, a safe haven for orphaned girls in Ethiopia,
